The unique floor plan was developed to avoid the usual long narrow and dark spaces that are typical of houses on 25’ wide lots. The free standing circular stair breaks the plan into three distinct geometric volumes – a square living room, a cylinder shaped stair and a rectangle for the dining and kitchen. This strategy creates surprise and variety in the spaces. The modern limestone façade is a reflection of the interior spaces.
